How did you get into wedding photography?
I went to school for photography and with my love for travel and love for photography… wedding photography melded those two loves into one dream career! I established Silent Moment Photography in 2010 and have photographed hundreds of unique wedding days throughout the past 12 years!
What is your approach to photographing our wedding day?
Professional. Easy going. Efficient. Creative. Dependable.
I will photograph the story of your wedding day, from you and your wedding party getting ready through to the end of your reception. Your gallery will be filled with beautiful, natural moments captured throughout every portion of your wedding day! I'm not going to try to control every little movement you make on your wedding day… I have a much more natural, candid and unobtrusive style of shooting. I will however give instruction and posing guidance at the appropriate time! I consider myself laid back and easy to be around… I also put a lot of importance on making sure that you feel comfortable and natural as photographs of you are being created.
I am professional and trustworthy… there’s no small print when you hire Silent Moment Photography.
Will you meet with us before the big day?
I’d love to! Many of my couples live out of town in which case we often video chat, talk over the phone or email back and forth prior to their wedding day. I firmly believe that communication is of the utmost importance when planning your wedding day! I have my couples answer a questionnaire and we go over timelines, formal photo requests and so much more.
It’s key to be on the same page so that when your wedding day arrives you will know exactly what to expect from your wedding photographer and your wedding photographer knows exactly what your wedding photography vision is!
Do you travel?
Most certainly! I've photographed weddings in the following New York State areas: Syracuse, Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Saratoga Springs, Ithaca, Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, Cooperstown, the Catskills, the Thousand Islands, the Adirondacks and throughout the Finger Lakes Region. I’ve photographed weddings in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts as well!
In California I’ve photographed weddings in: San Francisco, Berkley, Santa Barbara, Half Moon Bay, Santa Ynez, Healdsburg, Sunol, Vellejo and San José.
I’ve also photographed weddings in Puerto Rico and Florence, Italy…. from the rolling beach waves to the rolling Tuscany hills! I am an experienced traveler and love every minute of it!
How many photographs will we receive?
Every wedding day is unique but generally my couples receive between 700-1000 beautifully edited photographs in their gallery. Every package comes with the rights for couples to download, print and share their images however they wish!
If you could give every couple advice when choosing their photographer, what would it be?
Love their photographs! Love their professionalism! Love their personality! Be confident in your choice. Don't let your budget or outside opinions keep you from the photographer that you love! Ask to view multiple full wedding galleries from whichever photographers you are considering. It’s always a good idea to understand a photographer’s skill level and style throughout the variety of situations on wedding days!
